2004 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
About the Winery Bonneau Winery is operated by the third generation of Bonneaus with family history dating back to the early 1920s in the Sonoma – Los Carneros appellation. The Bonneaus originally came to America from the vineyard lands of Bordeaux, France and began farming a 70 acre parcel of land just south of the town of Sonoma. After growing and providing Chardonnay grapes to several well known wineries in both Sonoma & Napa, the family launched its own label in 2002. Bonneau sources our red varietal grapes from top vineyards in Sonoma, Napa, & Amador counties. Winery operations take place in Kenwood. Barrels are aged in caves sunk deep in the foothills located on the west side of the Sonoma Valley. John Bambury is the Director of Winemaking and handles all the winemaking responsibilities. Tasting Notes Bonneau’s first red wine release from Sonoma County features equal amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes selected from two outstanding vineyards. One located in Dry Creek appellation and the other on Sonoma Mountain. To enhance and compliment the wine, Petit Verdot and Malbec varietals were blended. In the glass, the liquid is a deep purple-ruby color wafting aromas of blackberry, ripe raspberry, and cranberry mingled with mocha, cassis and allspice. This wine is full bodied and luscious on the palate. The tannins are finely integrated with a defined amount of French oak. The texture is smooth and black cherry, juicy black fruit, and ripe fig nuances capture the mouth. The finish is long lasting and satisfying. This wine is made to enjoy with meals in its youth, continuing to mature and gaining depth over the next 5-7 years. Composition
