2006 Napa Valley Meritage - Epos

2006 Napa Valley Meritage - Epos

Bonneau’s Epos release is a Meritage red wine made primarily from Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon grapes selected from the distinguished Stagecoach Vineyards located in the eastern foothills rising above the town of Napa. This elegant red wine is masterfully blended with Petit Verdot and Malbec wines made from grapes selected from other excellent Napa Valley vineyards.

In the glass, there appears a deep purple-ruby color along with wafting aromas of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, Mission fig, cassis and allspice. The flavors are complex with each varietal contributing its particular nuance in a Bordeaux style. The full fruit flavors are nicely integrated with a modest amount high quality French oak. The texture is rich and satisfying with round tannins leading to a silky, elegant finish. This wine is made to enjoy with meals in its youth, however it will continue to gain depth and richness for at least 7-10 years.
