2006 Los Carneros Cabernet Sauvignon, Hyde Vineyard

2006 Los Carneros Cabernet Sauvignon, Hyde Vineyard

This 2006 Bonneau Wine is our second vintage of this unique Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes for this wine come exclusively from the impeccably farmed and highly acclaimed vineyards of Larry Hyde* in the Los Carneros appellation. The wine is sophisticated and very elegant. A sumptuous bouquet of ripe black fruits along with mocha & spice greets the nose. Tastes of juicy blackberries, bing cherries & huckleberries succulently fill the palate. Smooth, finely integrated tannins, derived from almost two years of careful aging in the highest quality French oak barrels, bind the wine together deliciously. Hints of vanilla, mocha, licorice and spices lead to a lingering and extremely satisfying finish.

This wine is so finely made that it can be a joy to drink now, but it will only get better with careful cellar aging. Only a little over 100 cases were vinted, so availability will be very limited and wine aficionados will want to reserve this wine for their most special occasions.
